A new study has found that the “oldest-old”—those who live to 90+ years—have superior levels of cognitive skill, even though they have similar levels of brain pathology as people with Alzheimer’s. At the same time, they have less brain pathology associated with other neurodegenerative diseases that cause memory and thinking problems. The study was based on 102 individuals with an average age of 97.6 years. Read more about it here.
